Windsor wins AC Metropolitan Pennants at Stephens

The final games of the AC Metropolitan Pennants were held at Stephens Croquet Club on Saturday. Winners were Windsor Croquet Club for 2026, with Runners Up being Stephens White, from Stephens Croquet Club.

A few spectators rocked up and witnessed some exciting play. The AC Pennants gives us all a chance to learn how to play with and against bisquing, and it can lead to some interesting results. It is also a great introduction for beginner players into competition under the guidance of a more experienced player.

Stephens Croquet Club wins GC Division 2 Pennant

The proud winners of the GC Division 2 Pennant for the Brisbane South Region, Stephens Croquet Club, are pictured here with Twin Rivers CC just before the final pennant game in the Brisbane South Region. Stephens took the match 6 games to 4 on Sunday.

They are now off to play the Metropolitan Pennant against the winners of the Brisbane North Region.

What follows is a couple of brief highlights as described by spectators at the game:

Bruce Peters (Twin Rivers) made a great shot from 7 yards out and a 40-degree angle to win his game 7/5 with a spectacular in-off.

Di Michels (Twin Rivers), from the same distance and angle, cleared the ball in Hoop 5.

Chris Hollingsworth ran Hoop 13 (in reverse) from 10 yards away to secure Hoop 13 for her and Kevin’s doubles game.
