Toombul welcomes Patron Leanne Linard for morning tea

e had a wonderful double celebration at the Toombul Croquet Club on Wednesday!

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming our local MP and club Patron, Leanne Linard, meeting our new Committee and mostly new Members for morning tea. It was a fantastic opportunity to chat about our upcoming 2028 Centenary (marking 100 years since our establishment in 1928!), explore grant and funding opportunities, and catch our Annual Championship in action.

A huge thank you to Carmel Donely for establishing and maintaining our wonderful connection with Leanne since 2016!

Proudly sharing Oxenham Park with the Toombul Bulls Cricket and Mayne Tigers AFL, our vibrant community hub continues to thrive through Social Play, Coaching, Mahjong mornings and Party Hire.

It has been a big week at Toombul. On Wednesday we held our Annual Golf Croquet Championship for the shield sponsored many years ago by N & E Doherty. The matches were played in wonderful spirits, with plenty of tight games between our 16 players over 2 days.

A huge congratulations to our winners:

- Championship Winner: Lindsay Boaler (with a nail-biting 7-6 win in the final over 2nd placegetter John Redmond!) - 3rd Place: Paul Fabbro - Plate Series Winner: Frances Gray

To top it all off, our esteemed life member Neville Doherty was right on hand to present the shield!

Great to see all our members playing so well. Lindsay himself has only been a member for 12 months. Great to see a new name on the Shield!
