Committee agrees to simplify admin for clubs & record our history.

The CAQ Management Committee met on Tuesday 28 July. Two decisions from that meeting will interest people.

myCroquet replaces RevSport for membership

The committee agreed to move ahead with myCroquet and the new member database immediately. In President John van Barneveld's words: "The main thing was to make the reporting of memberships as simple as possible for people to do. I want people playing croquet, not stuck doing administration."

Club committees will hear directly as the rollout begins Monday.

The committee also wants every club digging out its own history: old photographs, club history books, trophies, honour boards, photos on the wall...anything you want to preserve.

"Our recording of our history is not up to the standard I want to see it," CAQ President John van Barneveld lamented, "there is a lot of history sitting in our club houses that I want to see preserved for the future."

Begin to get ready. It could even be a good excuse for a (early) spring clean.

Find your old photos. In photo books, on walls or filing cabinets.

Do you have a digital store of photos? You can back them up on our storage so they don't get lost.

Are there classic old trophies sitting in your presentation cabinets? We want to record their history too.

We also want to ensure we have a recording of everyone's honour boards. Some of our most grand clubs only have partial records due to past fire and flood.

When all the photos begin to come in, there will be the opportunity to tell our stories and listen to the past. Our sport has such a rich history and a lot for us to record for the future.
