Nominations open for 2027 CAQ Committee Positions

roquet in Queensland is run by its members, and each year three jobs are up for election. CAQ is calling for nominations for President, Vice President and Treasurer. The elections will be held at the 2026 AGM on 24 November 2026.

Nominations opened on 20 October and close at 5 pm, Brisbane time, on 17 November 2026. That gives you about four weeks to think it over. You will need a proposer and a seconder to formally nominate.

Each role has its own tasks. The President leads the Management Committee and speaks for CAQ. The Vice President helps the President and steps in when the President is away. The Treasurer looks after CAQ's money: budgets, accounts and reports.

Could it be you? To stand you need only be a Registered Player over the age of 18 years.

To nominate go to the Lend a hand page. Each role has a full description there, so read it first and see if the job suits you.

If you decide to go ahead, you can complete the nomination process there. You will need a short resume, a proposer and a seconder (both must be CAQ members). Your nomination then goes to the Secretary, and members vote at the AGM.

Prefer paper? You can get the paper form from the Lend a hand page, fill it in and email it to secretary@croquetqld.org.

Nominations and elections follow Section 10 of the CAQ Constitution, Membership of the Management Committee.

CAQ also needs people for jobs that are not elected. There are 21 other jobs croquet needs help with. They include CAQ Secretary, Membership Officer, News Editor, Grants Officer and Social Media Officer. Someone is needed to lead the organising of the AC Nationals, Eire Cup and Gold Medal in Brisbane in 2027. Officiating roles include the Croquet Queensland Golf Croquet Selectors and Code Coordinators for AC, GC, Ricochet and Gateball.

For any of these, putting your hand up tells CAQ you are interested. Helping out croquet is a great way to use your skills.

Not sure a job is for you or have another task you wish to do? Ask the Secretary at secretary@croquetqld.org.
