Wynnum members enjoy coaching and Question Time

Club Coaching

Question Time: This morning Vice President Deirdre asked all members present a couple of questions relating to faults and wrong ball struck. This brought on healthy discussion and deliberation before Deirdre advised the correct way to deal with these happenings. We all found it very interesting.

This was followed by one hour's coaching of members arranged by Deirdre and Gordon, and assisted by referees Jim and Aina. Four groups of 9 players were given instructions to practise different tactics and strokes. A series of tasks was required of each group, one of which was to demonstrate distance hitting and accuracy. These instructions are so important, especially to new players.

Instilling confidence in all players is an essential part of our game. This is gained by support, advice and practice. Everyone enjoyed the experience and is looking forward to the next session.
