Player Development Program 2 wraps with Gordon and Deirdre Giles

layer Development Program #2 — what a great way to finish our second PDP for the year!

We were put through our paces during the week with a series of challenging drills and games led by Gordon Giles, one of Australia's top players. His focus on the discipline of practice reminded us that getting better comes from putting in the work — one shot, one decision and one game at a time!

We also enjoyed a valuable refresher on etiquette and the important role of the referee with Deirdre Giles, well known and respected by players throughout the country. Together, they reminded us that good croquet is about much more than hitting good shots — it's also about respect, discipline and sportsmanship.

Our thanks to Deirdre and Gordon for generously sharing their time, knowledge and enthusiasm. And thank you to all the wonderful coaches who have supported our Player Development Programs throughout the year. We're so fortunate to have such a fabulous croquet community supporting our players.

Now… back to practising! Better players, better understanding, more enjoyment — and a stronger, more connected croquet community at McIlwraith!
