Windsor’s winter competitions bring brooch winners and a Mini Series for newer players

Windsor Croquet Club held its doubles competition on 16 June. Looking after the scoring solo for the first time was member Claire, framed by a bowl of beautiful roses grown and arranged by Terry a fellow member and referee for the day.

Windsor has had a fantastically busy month, with the June Golf Brooch held on a beautifully sunny day. The weather was perfect for exciting games of Croquet, bringing out the best in our players. Players met at Windsor Croquet Club for the Mini Series - 10+ handicap. The aim of the day was to introduce new players to competition. A mini mock competition was held so players learnt what happens on competition days - how to complete handicap cards, play timed games, clarify rules and generally have a lot of fun.

Twelve players from Eildon, Wynnum, Toombul, Windsor, East Brisbane and Toronto all left feeling more confident with promises to enter a competition soon. Thanks to Willy for being the referee and to Ron also. All the Windsor players who chipped in with catering, hoop setting, lawn mowing, tournament management, cleaning up and just being wonderful, our thanks go to you. And of course the players from other clubs who came along to make it a huge success.
