Our Club Captain, Mike Mabbutt, said with health and safety at Windsor Croquet Club uppermost, a recent drive to obtain funding was successfully achieved when State Member for Clayfield, Tim Nicolls, and Federal Member for Brisbane, Stephen Bates, came to the fore with a generous donation towards the $1,600 cost of a defibrillator.

"The defibrillator now sits in the kitchen, hopefully never to be used, but there for emergency purposes should it ever be needed," Mike said.

A video was shown to members to be of assistance in its use, and together with an instruction manual created by Allison one of the club members, it is a great addition to the club.

The Division 3 Golf Croquet (GC) Team has won the Metropolitan North 2023 pennants competition. This then placed them in the final against the winner of the Metropolitan South comp. Our Windsor team then successfully beat Wynnum 7-3 at the Stephens Croquet Club on 8 October. The team is Alison, Gary, Glynn, Judy, Annette, Jim, Claire and John, ably captained by Willy.

In conferring the honour of life membership of the Windsor Croquet Club to Willy Silk, the members and all those who have been fortunate to share the game of croquet with Willy, we honour and salute you.

Member Willy Silk's croquet career is a testimony to someone who thrives by giving 100 per cent and more. This is whether she is playing both golf and association croquet exceptionally well; by winning and being runner-up at many tournaments over the years; or by coaching with a very high level of qualification so others can benefit; or by giving back to the organisation by taking on roles in its administration allowing the game to continue to prosper.
