A busy few months at Wests with two Bunnings sausage sizzles and some Croquet function fundraisers. It's great to be able to share the sport we love with others. Besides these social events we have found time to play Croquet and also hold a couple of tournaments as well as have our players compete in different competitions elsewhere.

Our postponed Association Tournament was played in beautiful conditions as opposed to our original dates in February. With reduced numbers due to many events across Queensland we were able to play Divisions 1 to 3. Five players from our own club competed with two of these playing competition association for the first time. Thanks to all who helped make the weekend a success. A special thanks to those players who travelled to compete in this event.

Congratulations to the winners:

Bruce Ford from Stephens won the Rene Cole Memorial Trophy (Bruce played with Rene as members of the Queensland team in 1985).

Frank Meek from Isis won the Joy Gardner Division 2 Trophy.

Our own Karen Boswell won the June Brady Division 3 Trophy.

On the 11th September we hosted our first CAQ Golf event. 11 pairs competed for the Croquet Queensland Centenary Medals at the GC 6 plus Doubles Competition. It was great to have some of our own members compete for the first time and thanks to those from other clubs who helped support this successful event. Thanks to Geraldine Trivett (CAQ Events Co-ordinator) for helping us with this event and being referee on the day.

The place getters received their prizes from our patron, Graham Barron, congratulations to them all.

Winners: Alyson Nolan and Tim Jones (both from Toowoomba).

Runners-up: Karen Boswell (West Toowoomba) and Terry Kearney (Toowoomba).

Third place: David Watherston and Sheryl Ehrlich (West Toowoomba).

Fourth place: Oliver and Kath Beverly (Point Lookout).

Our next competitive event will be the Spring Golf Croquet Doubles Gala Day on 16th October. We invite all golf croquet players to come along to this fun day, designed for beginners, first timers as well as more experienced players. Pairs will be ranked according to combined handicaps and split into blocks of players with similar experience.

Two of our members recently competed at the Australian Golf Croquet Singles in Adelaide. It was such a great experience for them playing against some of the best in Australia. We have also had players compete at the Windsor AC Cup, MSOB Ricochet, Point Lookout GC Masters and the President's GC Medal event.

In amongst all of these competitions we are running our annual club championships where members are able to compete in Association, Ricochet and/or Golf Croquet. Congratulations to our 2021 champions:
