Tweed Heads thanks outgoing officers and enjoys Melbourne Cup Day
Tweed Heads reports on AGM changes, new Life Members Thelma Beadle and Jackie Yabsley, and a Melbourne Cup Day celebration at the club.
Since the last newsletter, Tweed Heads has held its AGM and consequently had a slight change to its committee. Most notably, President Penny has decided it is time for a rest. The club thanked Penny for her generosity and time spent as President.
The club welcomed Janet Aherns. Members who know Janet well are excited by her appointment, noting she has recently retired as District Governor of QUOTA International and that the club feels it will be in very capable hands.
There has also been a change of Captain, with Debbie replaced by Jan Stuckings. The club thanked Debbie for her dedicated service.
This year Tweed Heads also welcomed Thelma Beadle and Jackie Yabsley as Life Members. Both have been members of the club for many years, serving as President and Secretary respectively.
Melbourne Cup Day at the club was enjoyed by all who were able to attend. Lunch was provided and served by the members, with three of the girls from Murwillumbah Club sharing the day. The traditional sweeps were held and Thelma took home more of the winnings than anyone else in the room.

Penny, Tony, and LTM Iris Trevethick.
The club is looking forward to its Christmas Lunch on the 12th. December. In closing the newsletter for the year, Danae Tattam wished all croquet playing friends a very Happy Christmas.
