Tweed Heads keeps playing while the new clubhouse takes shape

Tweed Heads reported that it had been just over two months since demolition of the club, but members had not been put off by the lack of a clubhouse. They continued to play on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, even on cold days.

The club thanked the neighbouring Family Day Care Centre for storing playing equipment and providing a room for meetings, as well as hot water for morning tea. Tweed Shire Council was thanked for moving the club's belongings and for its commitment to return them when the new building is complete.

Lesley and Betsy represented New South Wales at the Border Cup held at Burleigh Heads Palm Beach. New South Wales was defeated by Queensland this year.

Tony Kaucic competed in the MSOB at Southport Croquet Club on 22 and 23 June and reported on a great event. He took out second place.

The club said croquet brings people together, including visitors from interstate. Visitors to Tweed Heads remain welcome to play and share a cuppa while the club waits for the clubhouse to return.

Dennise Simmons from Byron Bay visited in July. Players who joined her appreciated the chance to tap into her considerable skills.
