Toowoomba annual Gateball Tournament draws teams and doubles entries

On the weekend of 5th and 6th October, Toowoomba held its annual Gateball Tournament. There were six teams taking part and six doubles entries, making for two very comfortable days of play.

The team competition was won by Moreton Bay, and the doubles were won by Robert and Donna Nicholson from Southport.

The Moreton Bay team won the Gateball team competition.

Toowoomba's own team of Sandra, Paul, Toni, Mario, Alison B, and Jill played well and came 2nd over all, which was a very good effort after a bit of a drought in this area.

The club had two entries in the doubles, Toni and Sandra, and Mario and Judy from another club. Toni and Sandra came 2nd and Mario and Judy came 4th.

Jill Gwynne reported that it was a most successful weekend, both for playing and for renewing friendships with other clubs.
