Come and join us for The Margaret Webley Event this winter. This is a two day Ricochet and Golf Croquet competition held at Central Queensland's premier Club, The Bundaberg Croquet Club, on the river.

The Margaret Webley Event attracts players from all over Queensland and Australia and occasionally overseas.

The "tournament" is named after Margaret Webley, an inspirational former president of the Club. Margaret brought Ricochet Croquet to Bundaberg in the late 1990's and from the start she did all she could to develop the game in the Club. She and another former president, Mary Dalton, began the event in 2000 and worked tirelessly to bring their "baby" to fruition. In 2009, the event was named after its founder.

Golf Croquet was added to the event and it now attracts a full field of contestants every year. On each of the two days of competition, the Club can accommodate 32 players, playing with primary and secondary colours on our four lawns. Marj Mitchell and now, Wilma Palmer, have successively worked tirelessly since Margaret's retirement to keep this event a "must do" date on the Croquet calendar.

This year we are introducing a new award at the event. If you are coming to join us, get in early. Places in the two days fill up fairly quickly. The closing date for nominations at the moment will be July 14. If the available places are filled before then, nominees will go onto a "waiting list" and will be notified if a place becomes available.

The Schedule and Nomination Form will be available from your Club soon after Easter. The nomination fee will be $20 per player per event and will include morning and afternoon tea. Lunch will be available at a cost of $10.

The Ricochet doubles competition will consist of 3 X 2hr games, based on a HI/LO random draw. The Golf doubles competition will consist of 6 X 45min games, also based on a HI/LO random draw.
