Storm delays Day 2 of Croquet Queensland Open GC singles, plus one more from Caloundra

ay 2 of the Croquet Queensland Open GC singles. Sky blue, 25 eager players, courts freshly mown and a very welcoming club. Nothing gets better than that.

At around 2pm the sky suddenly turned dark, loud thunder roared and the heavens opened. 20 mm of rain fell and the courts were awash. Play was delayed... well, we had to. There was an electrical storm, and the players were highly charged already.

At around 2:30, under blue sky, a squeegee was produced and some play restarted. By 3pm all play had restarted. Well, this is Queensland.

Lovely people, memorable times.

All will be back tomorrow for the final day. Check out your favourite on the [live scores](https://croquetscores.com/2025/gc/qld-open-singles/competition/championship-x).

Yesterday morning before the start of the Qld GC open singles.

Beautiful to see after the deluge we had in the days before, when we were under the pump to get the lines marked satisfactorily.
