Rockhampton wins Capricorn Trophy, Steve and Cheryl Kele take Moreton Bay Gateball Doubles, and monthly socials begin

Our Club is off to a positive start for 2023, with a new Management Committee elected and all players eager to return to play. As with all Clubs our focus is to attract new members and with 3 new players already this year, we are hoping the trend continues.

Our first away competition for 2023 was the Moreton Bay Gateball Tournament where we entered one team and three doubles teams. Our team was 3rd overall and Steve and Cheryl Kele won the Doubles.

The Capricornia Trophy Ricochet doubles handicap competition was held on 19th March with clubs from Capricorn Coast, Gladstone and Rockhampton competing. The winners were Sue Frame (Capricorn Coast) and Steve Kele (Rockhampton) and runners-up were Robyn Lyon (Rockhampton) and Mark Stephens (Gladstone).

Preparations are well under way for our annual Gateball Competition which will be held in conjunction with Gateball Pennants. We look forward to seeing our friends from the South and offering them our Central Queensland hospitality.

This year we have commenced a monthly get-together so all players can socialize and see players from all disciplines.
