Rockhampton players thrive at National Gateball Championships and 60's and Better sessions grow

Our Club is progressing well with good numbers turning up on all our play days. A group from 60's and Better play once a week with approximately 15 players enjoying our facilities. It is so pleasing to see the courts being used and the enjoyment these players display.

Our Gateball players competed in the National Gateball Championships in Wodonga and were very happy with our results. Our team of Steve Kele, Chris Kele, Robyn Lyon, John Dargel, and Cheryl Kele tied for 1st place against Kew and, unfortunately, we lost in the shoot-out. Kaelan Sweatman and Cheryl Kele played as a Doubles team and came equal 3rd overall.

We were grateful to have a visit from Pat Habner recently. Pat explained what was happening in CAQ and was very receptive to any suggestions we put forward. We look forward to getting more coaching in the Region.

David Macpherson joined our Club in 2017 and was a valued member and friend to us all. As Golf/Ricochet Captain, David organized many competitions and always helped whenever he was needed. Sadly, David passed away on 19th August after a short illness. Our condolences to Linda, Gina, and Cara. RIP David.
