Ricochet and AC wins at BHPB, and Betty Adams turns 100
Burleigh Heads Palm Beach wins regional Ricochet and AC competitions, celebrates Betty Adams' 100th birthday, and welcomes business groups with drone photography.
The regional Ricochet competition was held recently at Coolangatta with Malcolm Campbell winning Division Four and Dave Luxmoore winning Division One.
Dave Luxmoore was also much in action captaining the division's winning Ricochet team supported by Steve Scrimgeour, Malcom Campbell and playing reserves Paula Bollington, Joy Manning and Robert Spinks. He also captained the division's winning Association Croquet team supported by Malcolm Campbell and Gary Purcell.
This photo, taken from a group photo of a few years back, is of Betty Adams, a long time club member who recently celebrated her 100th birthday. Betty was a club member for many years and former Club President. She is an enthusiastic supporter of Association Croquet and only gave up playing 2 or 3 years ago.
Happy Birthday Betty. We hope your telegram from King Charles arrived safely.
With the Christmas season approaching, our club has had several bookings from business groups to hold a party and come and enjoy Croquet. At one of these occasions the company brought with them a drone to record the event from the air. Later, Dave Swarz from 'Everyday Massive', volunteered to come to our club on a play day and take several shots from the air with his drone. So our photos show a fresh perspective on croquet from the air!
Merry Christmas from us all at BHPB. Andy Hallinon

"And finally the club members are standing outside the club house looking towards the sky and waving to Father Christmas? - or was it the drone?"
