Pickvance and McLean runners-up at Bayside Cup; Bethania Parklands residents visit Twin Rivers

Pickvance and McLean runners-up at Bayside Cup

Is there anything better than getting out amongst your peers and doing battle for some of the trophies up for grabs in the world of croquet?

The Bayside Cup, played annually at the Wynnum Croquet Club and sponsored by Go See Touring, is one such tournament that attracts players from many clubs.

This year Twin Rivers was represented by Richard Pickvance, who partnered with Graham McLean from the Windsor Club. After a tough day, they were the Block B winners and the overall runners-up. Well done guys, great job.

Congratulations to the winners, Jill Cole and Mike Mabbutt from the Eildon Club.

Bethania Parklands residents enjoy a morning of croquet

It has been a real pleasure to welcome a group of residents from Bethania Parklands Care Community for a morning of croquet followed by a cuppa and cake. It didn't take this lovely group long to develop some mallet skills and enjoy the thrill of running hoops and winning games.

Fresh air and a little light exercise, along with lots of laughter, made for some fun mornings, and we hope to see them back again soon.

They found us through the Logan City Council's Active & Healthy Program, which offers a wide variety of activities for free or at a very low cost. As part of this program, the Twin Rivers Croquet Club offers two hours of croquet, including coaching, followed by morning tea on a Monday morning.
