New committee and pennant team at Broadbeach

The Broadbeach Croquet Club recently had its Annual General Meeting at the club premises, followed by a lunch and an afternoon of Golf Croquet. We have been getting a good turn-up for Golf Croquet and some regular players at Association. Anyone wishing to come along and join in Association play is welcome from 8:30 am each Saturday morning. Golf Croquet is played on Monday morning from 8:30 am, Wednesday afternoon from 3 pm, and Saturday afternoon from 2:00 pm. Wednesday play is followed by dinner and drinks from around 6 to 6:30 pm for a nominal price. Drinks are BYO.

The court is playing reasonably well and is being groomed by a contracted mower man. It has a fair amount of play being held on it but seems to still be thriving with all the foot traffic. In the near future we hope to have Quadway Hoops for play days in order to assist our members to feel more competitive when playing at other courts in the region.

This issue we are introducing our newly elected committee consisting of Alan Edwards (President), Sandra Edwards (Secretary), Jim Gardiner (Treasurer), Merle Neate (Club Captain and Providore), with Bob Neate and Sylvia Duffy being the other members that make up the Management Committee.

Until next time, take care and enjoy your time playing on the court and chatting with your club members, eager to play again.
