Nambour Spring Festival draws eager players

NAMBOUR CROQUET CLUB SPRING FESTIVAL 3RD OCTOBER 2022.

Spring had definitely arrived. A beautiful sunny day and lots of eager Croquet players ready to enjoy it. Headlands and Bribie Island players visited to enjoy the day. Morning and afternoon tea was provided by Nambour Club with lots of cakes and biscuits so not a day for dieting !!! Pat Mann (a keen orchid and flower grower) gave the tables a spring look with lots of Spring roses. Nambour club’s Bill Habner had a real task sorting out the teams each to play six games made a bit more difficult as some had to leave early and some couldn’t play six games. Happily it all worked out well. The player with the highest number of hoops scored would be declared the winner. There were four players who made 33 hoops Shirley McLaren, Mike Wilson, Mick Young and Vicki Lawrence All received cash prizes. Runners up-- LOTS OF CHOCOLATE.(good thing we use the calories up during the games) The games were great to watch, some very good hoops from our newer players and some of the better players ‘fell on their swords’. The door prize was a Clivea Plant (I’d never seen one before) in full bloom and raffles for some very nice wines. It was a most enjoyable day. Special thanks to our visitors and all who helped organise our travel into Spring. Looking forward to the next Spring Festival.
