Nambour hosts a come and try day and celebrates Windsor doubles wins

Wednesday 24th July Nambour hosted 25 Ladies for a Croquet come and try. Primarily the day organised to come together with the aim of creating and fostering a casual moment as an introduction to the game of Croquet. Nambour Croquet Vice President Rhonda organised the event with many willing helpers supporting the day’s activities. It was an opportunity for new and experienced players to come together - have fun while sharing knowledge and skills. Lunch being the culmination of outside activities.

As expected, it was an opportunity for all participants to engage with club members and guests. In summary, by acclamation, the day was very successful with several first time players indicating they will be back. Not just for the hospitality - but the game. Robyn Pettman

On the 16th of July the Windsor Croquet Club, Brisbane held the A and B doubles Croquet competition. 'POP' Peterson from the Nambour Club and Mary McMahon from Southport Club won the A block (photo at Right) and Ruth and Nigel Jamieson from Nambour Club won the B block.

Quite an achievement considering that all the Nambour winners are comparatively new to the Croquet game. Very well done.

On the 6th July I went to the Nambour Club to meet a friend and then go to Caloundra. It was the Nambour Garden Show day, and the rain was pouring down, players were out in the rain battling the elements, then I discovered it was a Pennants Game and it had to be played on soggy grass and the rain.
