Murwillumbah starts the year after a social December

Murwillumbah welcomed the new croquet year after finishing the old one with a very social December. The club hosted the regional Christmas party and welcomed members of the local ex-Services club for a Christmas celebration.

Thanks went to everyone who contributed preparations for the table, and to those who set up, packed away, cleaned and tidied. Joy Hughes and Juliett Emms coordinated the day and helped everything run smoothly. The club's own Christmas party was also well attended at the Murwillumbah Golf Club.

Play continues strongly, with all sessions popular. The Monday morning group, which includes many less experienced players, is showing progress, with more games including pegging out. The club is enjoying its beautiful park setting and the condition of the playing surface. Maria gave a big shout out to the "Lords of the Lawn" for the work that adds to members' enthusiasm and helps improve their game.

Geoff Chapman has been visiting and sharing tips, along with finer points of rules and regulations. The club also warmly welcomed new member Duncan Miller. Members were looking forward to heading to Tweed to celebrate that club's renovations, and Maria wished everyone a great year of croquet and improvement ahead.
