Ian Carr named Bribie Island’s most improved player

Bribie Island congratulated Ian Carr as the club’s most improved player for 2025. Ian was presented with the Cath Corbert plaque at the club Christmas Party after a year of strong results across Association Croquet, Golf Croquet, Ricochet and Gateball.

During 2025 Ian won the CAQ Div 2 AC Medal, won back-to-back Mary Masters Trophies, won the Club AC Div 2 Championship, was runner up in the Club Association Croquet Open Championship, won the Club Golf Croquet 6 & Under Championship, won the Club Ricochet Open Championship, competed in Bribie pennant teams for GC, AC and RC, and played with Caloundra in Gateball. He lowered his GC handicap from 7 to 5, his RC handicap from 9 to 6, and his AC handicap from 9 to 4.5.

The club has also adopted the Croquet Australia style logo in Bribie club colours, with two versions depending on use. Members received the change warmly and felt it brought unity to croquet within Australia.

Bribie Island also noted that the RevSports website is being used for club and interclub style events. Two major Association Croquet tournaments are scheduled for March: the Steve Jones Event, an Open Singles weekend on 21 and 22 March, and Mary Masters, singles for players with handicaps 4 and over, on 14 and 15 March. Each event costs $50, with flyers and bookings through the Bribie Island revolutioniseSPORT site.
