Headland-Buderim reports Nationals, Patron Shield and a recycling milestone
Headland-Buderim notes Queensland success at Nationals, regional results, farewell to Anne Somers Vine, Patron Shield and volunteer recognition.
Headland-Buderim congratulated Queensland players at the ACA GC Nationals in the Hunter Valley. Addison Matthews won Silver in the Gold Medal, Ross and Helen Rillie reached the knockout in the singles, and Ross was part of the Queensland State team that came third.
Regional results included the GC Pennant team winning, the RC Pennant team as runners up, and Colin Beckett winning the SC Championships Singles. A morning tea was held on 19 August for Anne Somers Vine as she hung up her mallet.

The Patron's Shield on 30 August drew six teams. Shirley Eames, Carolyn Hodgins and Jim Noskoff won, with Patron Gordon Matthews presenting the shield and Judith Matthews providing a spread. Containers for Change reached the $10,000 mark over about 10 years, with Don Murray thanked. Kevin Leadbetter received a Buderim Volunteer Award from MP Brent Mickelberg on 25 July.
