We have circulated our flyer for the Scholarship for the Women in Sport Programme. We have received 3 Applications, however, there is room for a couple more. The Scholarship allows the women free membership to Eildon for 1 year to come and play and are given the use of a club mallet and coaching.

A fundraising Gala Day was hosted by Eildon Croquet Club with the support of many other local Croquet Clubs and also from Toowoomba. The response to the fundraiser, which was to raise money to help Addison Matthews travel to America to participate in the World Croquet Federation Championships in October this year, was absolutely amazing. It just goes to show that even though we all compete against each other in competitions during the year, when needed we can also pull together to support one of our own.

There were so many volunteers along with people and businesses who donated items for the raffle that it would be remiss of me to name them all for fear of leaving someone out. So a big thank you for all who helped and participated in the Gala Day. A total of almost $4,000 was raised. Again well done to all, I am sure Addison and his family appreciate the effort involved.

Our Social Club has been busy as usual. We have just held a Christmas in July lunch which was well supported and enjoyed by all who attended. They are also organising a Mahjong competition in August and an event in October for Seniors Month, more about that in our next newsletter.

The Eildon Club House has recently undergone a change with the installation of bifold doors opening out onto our deck. We are all happy now that the project is finished (although it wasn’t too intrusive during the construction). We received funds from the Moreton Bay City Council through a community grant for the most part with the balance contributed by Eildon. Having the bifold doors will now allow us to open up for a much larger combined area for hosting our own functions as well as that for our club hires. Eildon also received funds from the Department of Tourism and Sport Active Clubs program. With the grant monies we purchased two new self propelled mowers which were greatly appreciated by our hard working lawn crew.

Golf Croquet Our June Andrew Reibelt Sunday Series had a full field of 16 players on 2 June. The winners of the 4 blocks were - Sidney Bates, Nigel Read, Dolly Taylor and Ruth Jamieson. Runners up were Carol Kleidon, Mike Mabbutt, Lorraine Hathaway and Chris Lyon.

Eildon also hosted the Qld GC Open Doubles. The winners were John Smith & Les Watson and a close second were Gabby Spencer & Casey De- Vene with only 2 net hoops separating them. Winners of the Consolation were Addison Matthews & Fran Wright. Close second were Bob Martin & Jenee Molyneux with only 4 net hoops separating them.

Congratulations to Eildon club members who have been selected to represent Queensland - Bob Martin, Jenee Molyneux and Desley Bischoff. We wish them all the best.

Association We held an AC Pro-Am Gala Day which marked the end of the first term of organised coaching. CAQ has offered development sessions for Div 3 and 4 AC players. The AC Pro-Am Gala Day was very successful and we hope to hold another very soon.

Gateball The Eildon Gateball team entered into the MSOB Tournament at Southport on 22/24 June. Our team members were Alan, Richard, Margaret, Philip, Robert, Christine and Jules. We had two entries in the Doubles Event - Philip and Alan, Robert and Richard. There were wins and losses but the weekend was thoroughly enjoyed by all. We thank Southport for hosting the event and providing a beautiful spread for morning and afternoon tea. Team at Southport
