Toombul Croquet Club hosted the CAQ AC Mixed Doubles over the weekend of 14 to 16 August, six pairs playing a full round robin for the title.

Shane Davis and Yuni Rowell went through the block without dropping a game. Five wins from five, finishing on net hoops of plus 82, well clear of the field. Their toughest test came against the eventual runners-up, Greg Bury and Francesca Dewytt, on the Saturday: a 22-12 win that turned out to set the shape of the whole weekend, because Bury and Dewytt lost only that one game on their way to second place.

Kathie Grant and Troy McCallum took third on three wins, ahead of Willy Silk and Addison Matthews in fourth. Sharon Langston and Zach Kominar and Casey De-Vene and Jenee Molyneux rounded out the six pairs.

This is ADDITIVE. Toombul's own Facebook report already lives on the news site at `/toombul-wins-mixed-doubles-title-shines-at-bnr-2026-08` (id 2859), which already names the winners and runners-up correctly and carries the same 5 photos plus an unrelated second story (BNR Friendship Day). This piece sits alongside it: a fuller Events report with the full six-pair block ladder CroquetScores has and the club post doesn't. Leave the original in place; this is not a replacement.

Cross-check note: the club's Facebook wording ("Winners... Runners-up...") reads like a head-to-head final, but CroquetScores shows this was a 6-pair round robin block with no separate final: the two names are the top-2 by block standing (wins, then net hoops), which also happens to line up with their actual 15 August meeting (Davis & Rowell won it 22-12). Confirmed against `apps/scrape-croquetscores.py --tournament` output directly, not just the page's own AI summary. No medium/low-confidence guesses used, the full block ladder resolves clearly on wins and net hoops with no ties to break.

Photos: reusing the 5 images already uploaded to the CMS by the Facebook harvester (media/5219-5223) via their live URLs, per the Windsor report's precedent. No re-download needed since they're already hosted.

Nothing to confirm from Wade before publish: no faces to identify, no ambiguous placings. Ready for the standard Desk draft-review, then a separate explicit publish approval.
