Cherry Street reports a strong year, ricochet success and a purple Friendship Day

Cherry Street reported another outstanding year on and off the greens. President Robyn Poynting leads a committee including Wendy Gilmore, David Scott, Jenny Dorward, Ray Chapman, Christine Edlund, Gloria Drew, Bev Bill, Helen Young, Pauline Bolte and Jan Hamilton.

Six members played at Sawtell in August, where Wendy Gilmore was runner up in D Division. The Northern Rivers Ricochet Handicap Singles was won by David Scott from Cherry Street with six wins, ahead of Mary Hughes from Ballina after a golden hoop game.

Bruce Nelson celebrated his 90th birthday and received his OBN badge from Club President Robyn Poynting. Club Championships drew 49 members across Golf, Ricochet and Association. The August Friendship Day welcomed visitors for fun games and camaraderie, with purple as the theme and funds raised for ESCABAGS.
