Cherry Street Ballina celebrates Club Championships and honours Jan Copeland as Patron

The year has been smooth sailing with local games, Club Championships, Tournaments and Novelty events being played. Club President Christine Edlund and Management have the Club running to perfection. Happy Members, Happy Club.

The Club Championships are finished, with record numbers playing in 2013. Robyn Poynting was the top competitor, winning 4 events, closely followed by Joan Doust with 3 events.

On the Tournaments, David Scott has contested a mammoth 19 events, with Club Captain Ray Chapman contesting 14. David and Ray were the most outstanding players from the Northern Rivers area with a host of titles including Australian and State Championship wins. David also is a member of the NSW State Golf Team.

Club foundation member, and still active member, Jan Copeland was made Patron of the Cherry Street Croquet Club. Jan was Secretary 2010 to 2014 and again in 2016, as well as President 2017/18. A fitting reward for a wonderful lady who has contributed so much to the Club since first formed in 2010. Jan now joins Albert Biggs and Ken Clarke as much treasured Patrons.
