Broadbeach welcomes winter visitors and prepares for its 75th anniversary

Broadbeach Club has been welcoming visitors from the south who enjoy some play time included in their winter escape from the chilly southern states. The winter play times have worked well and those who play are getting a good dose of vitamin D to keep their bones healthy.

The court is standing up well and players are content with their game time on the occasions they attend. There has been lots of interest in the Golf Croquet Pennant Games held throughout the Gold Coast Tweed Region with the Broadbeach players enjoying meeting up with and playing against a different combination of competitors.

There have been a few big competitions that players from Broadbeach have been to. Maria Barrett played in the annual Gold Coast-Tweed Region Association Competition and, as always, enjoyed her time on the court. Maria commented on how welcoming Southport Club made their visitors feel.

The Pennants competition for Golf Croquet has been played in a friendly competitive spirit as well, with players improving their skills on many courts in the Region.

Broadbeach Club will be celebrating their 75th Anniversary on Sunday 4 August with a sit down Sunday Lunch. If you would like more information please call Sandra or Alan Edwards 5531 1289.

If you are in the Broadbeach vicinity on a Monday morning, Golf Croquet is played Tuesday with Saturday mornings for Association. On Wednesday and Saturday afternoons - Golf Croquet. Visitors are always welcome.
