Broadbeach welcomes winter visitors and celebrates Edna Laurie's birthday

Greetings from Broadbeach Croquet Club. Here are some club snippets to read about what has been happening in our neck of the Gold Coast Tweed Region over the past weeks. Players are welcoming visitors from our Southern States and New Zealand as they escape north for the warmer climate during the cooler months. So to help keep our players and visitors up to date, there have been some adjustments to the starting times for play days.

The pennant teams are enjoying meeting up with the other clubs participating with one victory and others just missing success by a hoop or two. The teams are still showing a very competitive spirit and eager to get some points on the scoreboard this season.

There are some time changes for players considering a visit to Broadbeach.

- 9:00 am is the starting time for Association croquet which is on a Saturday morning. - 9:00 am is the starting time for Golf Croquet on a Monday morning. - 2:00 pm Wednesday afternoon and Saturday afternoon start for the cooler months. (Wednesday is still offering players to stay behind for dinner. Just check with the players what is on offer for the evening.)

The Association Croquet players celebrated our Life Member, Edna Laurie's, birthday in April. Edna has been a long time member of Broadbeach Croquet Club and still enjoys catching up with players and challenging them to a hoop or two.
