Broadbeach takes delivery of Quadway Hoops, and members enjoy a club dinner
Broadbeach celebrates new Quadway Hoops funded by members and council, and enjoys a well-attended club dinner on their refurbished court.
Seasons Greetings from Broadbeach Croquet Club. At Broadbeach Croquet Club we are enjoying being able to play on our refurbished court for the whole of this year with just a small interruption when the lawn was top dressed and spelled for a fortnight. Play times have been altered for the summer months with Wednesday and Saturday commencement time for Golf Croquet at 3pm. Saturday morning is proving popular for Association Croquet which commences around 8:30 a.m. if you wish to come along and join the group you will be most welcome.
Broadbeach has recently been very excited with the purchase of Quadway Hoops. The hoops will bring our players for pennants and other tournaments in the region up to speed with using these hoops regularly. They were purchased with donations from members participating in a Hoop Go Fund Me Account and money procured via our local Division 10 councillor Darren Taylor's annual discretionary fund that is provided by the City of Gold Coast Council each year. Alan was very happy to take delivery of the Quadway hoops in the photo above.

Our players are still enjoying Wednesday afternoon play and the evenings in particular where those who wish to stay behind, enjoy a meal and some social time together. Recently, as well as the normal afternoon play, an organised social function was held with Dinner and Dessert for a nominal cost. It was well attended by nearly the whole of our membership and their partners.

Broadbeach Croquet Club has been certainly revived after so many starts and stops since March 2018 and it is pleasing to have eighteen months of play with a grassed surface that is holding together well with the foot traffic figuring how to get that ball closer to the hoop.
Thank you Margaret and Barbara for your expertise and management getting this magazine published each quarter. Have a restful Festive Season and we at Broadbeach will be looking forward to reading everyone's news in 2024! Best wishes from Broadbeach Management and Members.
