Broadbeach celebrates club champions and new captains

Broadbeach promoted the winners of the Intra-club Golf Croquet Championships: Handicap Doubles, Val Knigge & Madeleine Robertson; Handicap Singles, Dave Wallace; and Level Play Singles, Sylvia Duffy.

Leigh Bosward has been elected Golf Croquet Captain. Leigh has been playing Golf Croquet at the club for about 7 years and brings a solid sporting background from previous participation in club sport.

Margaret Barnard has taken on the role of Association Captain at Broadbeach. Margaret enjoys and participates in all things mallet sports. Although the Association players are smallish in numbers, they remain keen to keep Broadbeach alive and enjoying the traditional game.

As the year comes to an end, the club is celebrating the success of the current membership in keeping Broadbeach alive during the down time to its successful year 2024. The club planned an end of year event with lunch and presentation to the Club Champions 2024.

Broadbeach thanked Margaret & Barbara, the magazine editors and publishers, for keeping members updated each issue and organising writers to submit news. The club also thanked organisers, referees and groundskeepers for their work at events and in day to day lawn maintenance, and all new and ongoing players who keep mallet sport alive in the Gold Coast Region.

The club wished everyone a safe, healthy and happy Yuletide Season and looked forward to seeing players around the courts in 2025.
