Broadbeach back to normal play, St Patrick's Day celebrations, and Vale Kevin Robertson

Our members are enjoying the convenience of playing on their home turf. Play at Broadbeach is back to normal now with the following occurring:

Association Croquet is being played on a Tuesday morning and Saturday morning from about 8:30am. If you are looking to add another Association day to your schedule then you will be welcome to come along and join in. The lawn is playing beautifully and our members are enjoying each playing day the court intricacies and challenges has to offer them.

Golf Croquet is being played on a Monday morning from 9:00am, Wednesday afternoon (3pm) and Saturday afternoon 3pm. Afternoon times will change once weather cools down.

Gateball is on hold, however there is a social group who meet at the Gold Coast Bowls Club on a Wednesday and Friday from about 8:30am.

Wednesday evenings have been busy with the catering group organising meals on site following the game. Last Wednesday in honour of the upcoming St Patrick's Day a special cuisine was organised of Corned beef, Cabbage and Taties. Our resident Irish Rose, Annie, was there in all her glory spinning jokes and no doubt serenading the group with some Irish lullabies.

Colleen and Paddy (aka Annette and Gerry) half of the organising team with Merle and Kevin who has kept them on their toes organising these evenings.

Pennants are underway and should prove to be an exciting and challenging season. Broadbeach has been able to muster three teams to take up the challenge.

Vale Kevin Robertson

Kevin Robertson passed after a short illness. Kevin was a very keen player of Golf Croquet. During his time with the club he organised Wednesday night dinner menus and constructed other useful pieces that members appreciated. Kevin's dry sense of humour and progressive ideas will be greatly missed by the Broadbeach Croquet Club folk.
