A close Gala Day at Bribie, and a World Ranking for all at Caboolture
Bribie Island's Autumn-themed Sunshine Fencing Gala Day, and the Caboolture Sports Club Golf 7 & over Tournament where all 16 players earned a World Ranking.
Fine weather and the occasional breeze gave players great conditions for Bribie Island's Autumn-themed Sunshine Fencing Gala Day on 18 April. Seventeen places were filled by players from the club, some for the first time, and the feedback was very positive. Sue and Dennis Green gave their time as referees, and games were played with dispatch so that play ran smoothly. Results were very close in all teams, with some places decided by a single net hoop.

Caboolture Sports Club Golf 7 & over Tournament
On Saturday 16 May, the Caboolture Sports Club Golf 7 & over Tournament saw 16 players vie for a $200 cash prize, with $100 for the runner up and $50 consolation prize money. Among the field, the lower-handicap players were working to bring their handicaps down and improve their World Ranking grades, while for others it was the very first tournament they had entered. Alongside the Bribie contingent were players from Eildon, Stephens and Otorohanga (NZ).
Each entrant played six one-hour games across the day. The three referees, Sue Green, Jenee Molyneux and Dennis Green, kept players to the rules of the game. After a very tight final game the overall winner was John Burdinat (Bribie), with Peter De-Vene (Eildon) the runner up. Penny Verrall (Eildon) received the consolation prize, and encouragement prizes went to Peter Sheppard (Bribie) and Shona Hollinshead (Otorohanga NZ). All 16 players now have a World Ranking.

The field gathered at the Caboolture Sports Club Golf 7 & over Tournament.
