Wynnum wins July round of Metropolitan Pennants, plus one more from Stephens

Last Sunday, it was a chilly start to the July round of Metropolitan Pennants for Golf Croquet. Stephens hosted the games between Wynnum, Graceville, Eildon (Woody Point) and Stephens.

There were some close results, but Wynnum had a great day, winning against all clubs. The Stephens team had to bring in the Reserve, who was extremely pleased with a 7-1 score in one game – well done, Felicity! Stephens finished up with 2 wins.

Queensland Open Doubles Championships at Wynnum this weekend

The Queensland Open Doubles Championships for Association Croquet will be held at Wynnum Croquet Club this weekend.

Competitors are coming from around Australia and New Zealand.

Ernie will be teaming up with Dick Smith. They played the final against each other in the Open Mens Singles at the recent Gold Coast Tweed Regional Tournament. The Preston brothers are also in Block A. Unfortunately, Margaret is unwell, but it will be great to see Tom back in action on the courts playing with Heather.
