Wynnum wins 2015 Pennants as ducklings visit the courts

Mother duck and ducklings inspect Wynnum's courts

We had a visit from a mother duck and her babies this morning, checking out our courts and hoops.

They wandered around and inspected the four courts before disappearing back to the creek. They were a delight to watch as mother duck encouraged her little ones to walk faster when the photographer got too close.

Wynnum Association team wins 2015 Pennants

Our Association team won the Pennants for 2015 and we are very proud of them all.

The photo below shows team members, standing left to right: John Carter and Ron Schodel, and seated at front, left to right: Jim Philp, Brian Rubock and Wendy Snowdon. Absent from the photo was Tom Komene.

Congratulations team, well done. We look forward to another successful year in 2016.

Volunteers fertilise court 2 at Wynnum

John and his willing troop of helpers were at it again on Monday, this time on court 2. What a difference it will make.

The light rain we got this afternoon during play was welcome, but not enough to soak the lawns, which is what is required after fertiliser is laid down.

Thanks to all those members who give up their time to help out when the call goes out.
