ur Club was well represented at the Mallet Sports on the Broadwater Golf Croquet Event over 5 days, 29th June – 3rd July 2022.

The Golf Croquet Mixed Doubles was played on Wednesday and Thursday, 29th–30th, with Gordon & Deirdre Giles, and Richard Pickvance, who teamed up with Mary McMahon (Southport). There were 11 pairs playing in the Round Robin Block. There was some extraordinary croquet played over the 2 days of play, and eventually Elaine Berridge (Twin Rivers) and Randall Whyte (Graceville) claimed the Shield with 10 wins and 31 Net hoops. Richard and Mary were 2nd with 9 wins and 31 Net hoops. Gordon and Deirdre were 3rd with 7 wins.

Congratulations to our Elaine & Randall on their success.

Our entries for the Division 1 Singles, played on Friday 1st July, were Richard Pickvance and Gordon Giles. Unfortunately, Richard had to pull out at the last minute due to illness.

Gordon ended up a close 2nd in Block B by 3 Net Hoops from John Young (Victoria), who went on to play in the final and lost 6-7 to Gabby Spencer (Southport), who won the Shield.

Unfortunately, Wynnum didn't have any players in Divisions 2 and 3.

A great 5 days of croquet was had by all. All results are on Croquet Scores:
