Wynnum's Dick Pickvance wins doubles at Mallet Sports on Broadwater
Wynnum member Richard (Dick) Pickvance and partner Penny Jackson won the doubles trophy at Mallet Sports on Broadwater. Richard also finished second in the singles.
SOB, Mallet Sports on Broadwater, was held Wednesday to Friday, 4th to 6th July, at Southport Croquet Club.
The week provided good weather with just an occasional light shower, so conditions were perfect. Players came from as far as Ballina to participate in this annual event.
The handicap singles competition was held Wednesday and half of Thursday, with the handicap doubles event held half of Thursday and all of Friday.
Our own club member Richard (Dick) Pickvance and his partner Penny Jackson (from MacIlwraith) won the coveted Doubles trophy from 11 other pairs. They played extremely well against great competition.
Richard came second in the Singles event, so we congratulate Richard on his well-earned win. We look forward to watching his continuing success. Well done Richard, congratulations.
