Wynnum's 100th birthday fundraiser afternoon tea

A fundraising event for our club's 100th birthday was held yesterday with a delightful afternoon tea. Deb and her helpers catered for 28 guests, who were treated to a welcome drink with nibbles, followed by trays of hot savouries, sandwiches and a huge selection of cakes, some even decorated with gold dust.

We were very fortunate to have our club Patron, Cr Alex Givney, join us, as we welcomed her to our club. We look forward to working with Alex well into the future. Check out her Facebook page for more photos.

Later in the afternoon our guests were welcomed onto the courts for a 6 hoop game of croquet. Lots of laughter and giggles were heard as everyone enjoyed the game and the company of fellow players.

As the sun set late in the afternoon, people were still eager to play, which was a super way to end a very pleasant day.
