These ladies were very much appreciated in WA. They will be really looking forward to seeing you again next year.

Thanks Deirdre and Sue, you always do such a great job.

Plovers nesting beside Wynnum's number 1 court

Our local plover parents are still on their eggs on the edge of our courts, and very protective of their area. The male plover doesn't hesitate to swoop on players if he feels they are getting too close.

Our number 1 court hasn't been mowed for a month now as we were trying to "give them some space". The grass was getting so long that members were complaining about the court surface.

Member Pat decided to give the court a quick mow, while President John ran shotgun with an umbrella to protect the worker. It seemed to work as the lawn was shortened in no time.

An update on the eggs: they still haven't hatched yet, but they can't be far away now.
