indsor Brooch

Each month, Windsor Croquet Club hosts a Golf Croquet Level Play Singles event, with a maximum of 16 players divided into four blocks, playing a double round robin format. A Brooch is awarded to both the winner and runner-up in each block.

At the event held on 20th June 2025, the Wynnum Club was proudly represented by Brian Tidmarsh, Viv Tidmarsh and Ann Brooks.

Brian competed in Block A, winning all 6 of his games and finishing with an impressive net hoop score of +16, earning him the winner's Brooch. Congratulations!

Viv played in Block B, securing 4 wins from 6 games and a net hoop score of +6, placing her at the top of her block and also winning a Brooch. Well done!

Ann also played in Block B and achieved 3 wins from her 6 games. A great effort, well done!

Queensland GC State Team trains at Wynnum

Wynnum was delighted to host the Queensland GC State Team for their practice session at our Club on Sunday, 13th July. It was a real treat to see some of Queensland's top Golf Croquet players in action on our courts and to observe their impressive tactical play firsthand.

Their focus and precision, ensuring every shot was perfectly weighted and placed, was truly inspiring.

We extend our best wishes to the team as they prepare to take on other States in the upcoming WCF Interstate Shield, to be held in New South Wales in early September.

Players taking part in the Renaissance croquet competition at Wynnum Croquet Club

The annual Renaissance competition held at Wynnum on Thursday 10th July was held in glorious weather, albeit a bit chilly in the morning. The event was sponsored by Renaissance Retirement Living, who have been a major sponsor of our club for many years.

Twelve teams competed, from Bribie to the Gold Coast. Some games ran out of time, making the results very exciting. There were certainly some spectacular shots made throughout the day. Thanks to all who entered.

At the end of the competition the winners were Barry Beattie and his partner Alison Love. The runners-up were Lisa Weightman and Deborah Gunner.

Everyone enjoyed the competition, with the presentation made by Vice President Deirdre Giles. Congratulations must go to both teams in the final, both of whom played very strategic games.

Thanks must go to the hoop setters, referees, caterers and members for all the help they give us so that competitions are enjoyed.

Once again, we would like to recognise and thank our sponsor, Renaissance Retirement Living, for their continued sponsorship. We certainly appreciate their support.
