Wynnum players at Mallet Sports on the Broadwater 2021

Our Club was well represented at the Mallet Sports on the Broadwater Golf Croquet Event over 5 days, 26th-30th September 2021.

The Golf Croquet Mixed Doubles was played on Sunday and Monday, 26th-27th, with Gordon & Deirdre Giles, and Richard Pickvance, who teamed up with Mary McMahon (Southport). There were 11 pairs playing in the Round Robin Block. There was some extraordinary croquet played over the 2 days of play, and eventually Richard and Mary claimed the Shield with 9 wins and 31 Net hoops. Congratulations to our Club mate.

Our entries for the Division 1 Singles, played on Tuesday 28th, were Richard Pickvance and Gordon Giles. Unfortunately, Richard and Gordon were competing against each other in the same Block.

Gordon ended up a close 2nd in Block B, by 2 Net Hoops from Ross Rillie (Headland-Buderim), who went on to win the final and claim the Shield.

Unfortunately, Wynnum didn't have any players in Divisions 2 and 3.

A great 5 days of croquet was had by all. All results are on Croquet Scores:
