Wynnum pair compete at ACA Golf Croquet Open Doubles

Wynnum members Gordon Giles and Geoff Hull played in the ACA Golf Croquet Open Doubles held at Cairnlea on 5-8 May 2018, which was contested by players from all States and the ACT.

Two blocks played off in a round robin format on Saturday. The top 4 of each block went through to the Finals of 8, and the remaining players played off for the Plate.

Gordon and Geoff were a bit inconsistent but still came 2nd in their block to qualify for the championship.

They went down in the first round of the Championship, so moved into the Y section and qualified for the final. Unfortunately, they were comprehensively beaten in the final, but they enjoyed the experience of playing against players from other states.
