Wynnum Mixed Doubles won by Schodel and Meates

Wynnum Croquet Club held its club Mixed Doubles competition on Thursday, 7th Nov.

Seven pairs entered, with each pair having a bye during the day. As it was a level play event, it was good to see tactical play by everyone. The strong winds blew hats off and even blew stationary balls at times, making some shots quite a challenge.

It was great to see new competitors Nathan & Heidi on the courts, who would have gained valuable knowledge for future comps.

Congratulations to the winners, Ron Schodel and Karen Meates, with 6 from 6 wins, a great result. Runners up were John van Barneveld and Di Lovi.

A huge thank you to all who entered, it was a very enjoyable day.

We would also like to thank our volunteers for arranging games, entering results, and their work in the kitchen.
