Wynnum Metropolitan Challenge played in 80kph winds

ith 80kph winds blowing across the courts last Sunday, it was a hard task to keep hats on heads and to prevent the balls from being blown off course after a shot. The grass was also super quick, which made playing extremely interesting.

This was our club Metropolitan Challenge event, which saw 14 starters. It was a great day and good competition was seen.

The final was between Brian Rubock and John Puchy, with Brian taking the last hoop 7-6. Elaine Rubock and Geraldine Trivett played off for 3rd place, with Elaine taking the prize.

We thank all the players who turned up from far and wide to join us and hope we meet you again somewhere on the courts another day.
