Wynnum hosts Trans-Tasman croquet test series

Wynnum is currently hosting the Trans-Tasman Association Croquet three test series, being held from Monday 23 to Saturday 28 April.

The top eight players (four men and four ladies) from Australia and New Zealand are proud to be playing for their respective countries, and the standard of croquet is truly excellent, with some amazing shots being made.

A ceremony was held on Wednesday 25 April when players, officials and spectators paused to pay tribute to the heroes from both countries who served in many conflicts over the past 100 years.

There was an address by Mr Don Close, President of Croquet Queensland. Wreaths were laid by the Team Captains (Greg Fletcher for Australia and Greg Bryant for New Zealand). The Ode to the Fallen was spoken by a well-respected, long-time member of the club, and veteran, Mr Jim Philp.
