Wynnum hosts International Gateball event
Wynnum is hosting an International Gateball event this weekend, with teams from China, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Australia. Practice day was a great chance to meet the players, teams and officials.
his weekend our club is hosting an International Gateball event. Today was practice day and a great way to meet and greet the players, teams and officials. There are teams from China, Hong Kong and New Zealand as well as our own teams from Australia. We are hoping to make many new friends over the weekend and learn about another aspect of our mallet sports.
A choral trio began the afternoon's festivities by singing two verses of our Australian National Anthem.
The day was officially opened by representatives from ACA, CAQ and Joan Pease MP, who successfully hit a ball through a "gate". Our club members came out in force again to help make this event a successful one, with fantastic catering and superb facilities.
