Wynnum hosts first round of Brisbane Metropolitan GC Pennants

Wynnum Croquet Club hosted East Brisbane Club and a combined Stephens/Ipswich Clubs team for the first round matches of the Brisbane Metropolitan GC Pennants on Sunday 16th January 2022.

In very hot and humid conditions, our team of Karen, Aina, David and Beryl put up a spirited performance in the first match. They won both doubles games and shared the first round of singles, but lost the reverse singles before going down 4-6 to East Brisbane.

In Match 2, our Wynnum team of John, Dianne, Esme and George won both the doubles games but were outclassed in the singles by the combined Stephens/Ipswich team, where we lost 3-7.

Well done to all our players, and huge thanks to those people who turned up early to set the hoops and prepare for the busy day.
