Wynnum honours Mike Fordyce for new shed project

nthusiasm beats procrastination!

Even though the rain and showers continued to fall, our very enthusiastic members put up the courts this morning and were determined to play... with enthusiasm!

At times we had to huddle under the shelters part-way through a game, but determined we were, and we managed to get two whole games in before the committee called it off. There was just too much rain and too much water on the courts.

Back in the clubhouse, with a cuppa in hand, our President John called everyone to order to present a very special award to Mike Fordyce: the non-sporting Outstanding Contribution Award, for his contribution to the building of our new shed.

Mike was the head of the committee that held major discussions with Council, planners, architects, engineers and others to construct our lovely big storage shed, which has been erected, installed and is now filled with our club equipment.

Without Mike's guidance and expertise this structure would not have happened. We acknowledge Mike's energy, time and knowledge in seeing this project through to the end.

Thanks Mike, your award was thoroughly deserved.
