Wynnum croquet club officially opens new equipment shed
Wynnum Croquet Club has officially opened its new shed, made possible by a Lord Mayor's Better Suburbs Grant. Patron Cr Sarah Whitmee turned the key to open the building.
ur club was very excited to finally have the official opening of our shed. Our President, John, welcomed Patron Cr Sarah Whitmee, who officiated, turning the key, opening the roller door and attaching the Brisbane City Council sign to the front of the building.
This was made possible through a successful grant from the Lord Mayor's Better Suburbs Grant – Community Facility twelve months ago. Many people were involved with this five-year project, so thanks must go to the Management Committees, both past and current, and to our Project Manager, Mike Fordyce. Some members, including Richard and Gordon, have also been involved from the beginning, while many others helped along the way.
With our equipment now in a secured building, we are thrilled with the final result.
We celebrated the opening with a morning tea where a delicious selection of food was provided, along with true blue Aussie tomato sauce!!
We were very pleased that Cr Sarah was able to join us today and share in our celebration.
